The Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board was created to regulate licensing of naturopaths in Arizona. The Board’s phone number is 602-542-8242. They can be reached at 1400 West Washington, Suite 230, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
All applicants for this specialized medical license must take and pass the Arizona Naturopathic Jurisprudence Examination. Their score must be at least 75 percent. Contact the Board to take this test.
There is also a test administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners. Arizona applicants must have a passing score on the basic science examination, the clinical science examination, acupuncture, minor surgery, and homeopathy. The statute does not mention the passing score for these exams. This series of exams is called the NPLEX:
Doctors seeking this license must graduate from an approved naturopathic medicine school. As part of a naturopathy school, you will have to complete clinical training.
Naturopaths seeking to specialize in a particular area need to take a postdoc specialty course and pass a specialty exam. The statute does not specify which exams. But each one typically has some kind of certification company or organization.
